altSEPTEMBER 26 - The International Cycling Union (UCI) and the Tour de France organisers have reached an agreement that puts an end to their long-running feud over the sport's calendar and which threatened riders eligibility to ride in the 2012 Olympics.



Gymnastics star to sign with Christie agency


 

AUGUST 30 - LOUIS SMITH (pictured), who in Beijing became the first British male gymnast to win an individual medal for a century, is set to sign a contract to be represented by Linford Christie's management company.












IAAF and UK Athletics launch new magazine to exploit London 2012


 

JULY 3 - The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), in partnership with UK Athletics, today launched a major new drive to promote athletics globally with a cutting edge magazine and interactive global website to exploit the interest in the sport in the run-up to London 2012.


Football teams selected for Paralympics


 

JULY 3 - THE Home Nations may not have had any football teams at this summer’s European Championships but two football teams will travel to Beijing to represent Britain at this summer’s Paralympic Games in Beijing.
