The Maribor 2023 Summer European Youth Olympic Festival will be powered by a dedicated army of volunteers.

Anyone aged 16 in May 2023 can apply for a role at the event if they live in Slovenia, while the age was 18 for those applying from overseas.

International candidates are no longer being accepted, but there is still a chance for local people.

Most candidates have already been interviewed with those successful receiving training and education.

As "faces of the festival", volunteers will not just be present at the sporting venues but all over Maribor.

Key roles will include informing fans, welcoming guests at hotels and airports, distributing accreditation, media support, giving directions and supporting athletes, officials, referees and national teams.

Volunteer roles must be carried out in an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation.
