Danni Hillbrandt-Mogensen has been appointed as the new development officer for the IPCH Sport Executive Committee, the organisation which oversees powerchair hockey for the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation.

IPCH chairman Fabio Rodo welcomed Hillbrandt-Mogensen, a former Denmark international, to the position.

"With the co-optation of Danni we gain a new professional figure in a key position," Rodo said.

"It’s clear that development is the most important area to improve in our sport.

"In the next months we will take over the international network contacts and trying to expand it with more nations potentially interested in the sport.

"Welcome on board Danni and thanks for joining us."

The organisation hopes to spread the sport to more nations and continents than it is now.

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the United States are among nations who play international powerchair hockey.

The sport is developing in Austria, Estonia, India, Japan, Morocco, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Italy are the reigning powerchair hockey world champions after defeating Denmark 2-1 in the 2018 final.

This year’s European Championships was postponed until 2021 due to coronavirus.
