isberg__pigretti_FIH_18-07-11July 18 - With the 2012 London Olympics just over a year away, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced its technical delegates for both the men's and women's hockey tournaments, naming Sweden's Bjorn Isberg and Argentina's Laura Pigretti to the key posts, respectively.

Both bring vast hockey experience to the Games, Isberg from Stockholm, comes to London with one Olympic Games already under his belt, having served as assistant technical delegate in Beijing in 2008.

He has also worked the 2004 Olympic qualifier in Madrid, as technical officer, the 2006 World Cup qualifier in Guangzhou, China, as tournament director and the 2006 World Cup in Mönchengladbach as technical officer - a role he also fulfilled at the Hero Honda FIH World Cup in New Delhi 2010.

Most recently, he was the tournament director at the FIH Indoor World Cup in Poznań, Poland, in February of this year.

For Pigretti from Buenos Aires, the London Games will be her third Olympic experience as an FIH tournament official, having worked in 2004 in Athens as judge and in 2008 she was assistant technical delegate.

She has also worked at two World Cups, in 2006 in Madrid and in 2010 in Rosario in her native Argentina, as technical officer, as well as serving as the tournament director at the 2005 Champions Trophy in Canberra, the 2008 Olympic qualifier in Vancouver and at the FIH World Cup qualifier in 2010 in Santiago.

As technical delegates at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Isberg and Pigretti will be the authority for all things competition related.
