First Meeting of Women and Sports of Taekwond in Bolivia. PATU

The First Meeting of Women and Sports of Taekwondo, organised by the Bolivian Taekwondo Federation and led by President Ana Hernández and Director of Women and Sports Laura Roca, has been an extraordinary event that has left an indelible mark on the taekwondo community Bolivian.

With the attendance of more than 150 female practitioners, teachers, professors and mothers, the meeting became a space for inspiration, learning and empowerment. From its beginnings, the purpose was clear: to motivate through real success stories, encourage the active participation of women in taekwondo and strengthen their empowerment in this martial art. It was attended by sports authorities at the national level.

Prominent figures of Bolivian taekwondo, such as Laura Roca, Kimberly Nosa Vaca, Vreni del Carpio, Verónica Ayaviri and Rocío del Valle Romero, shared their experiences and knowledge, inspiring the participants to achieve their goals with determination and confidence. The diversity of profiles and trajectories present at the event reflected the scope and strength of women's taekwondo in Bolivia.

This meeting has not only strengthened the confidence and self-esteem of women in taekwondo, but has also promoted gender equality, the recognition of female talent and the creation of a more inclusive community in the sport. In addition, it has been an opportunity to connect, share and build networks of mutual support among the participants.

This commission has been working since last year on different activities in favour of Taekwondo, within its powers is to give greater visibility to the participation of women in this field, but above all also to inspire more women to practise this martial art, achieving massification of it.

"It is something never seen before, we want girls and young people to see that there are references in all areas," says Roca. On the other hand, the message from the president of the federation was engraved in the hearts of each participant.

"Fight for what you want, don't give up, but always prepare, study, Taekwondo is a martial art with a lot of discipline and perseverance, it will help you achieve all your goals." These activities will be replicated around the country, also offering different training sessions to the entire Taekwondo community.
