The Attribution Ceremony took place on Saturday 20 April 2024 in the Auditorium of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. Both the Attribution Ceremony and the preceding Executive Committee meeting on 19 April were hosted by the Portugal University Sports Federation (FADU) and the University of Aveiro. 

The official presentations by the Bidding Committees, in the order established at the Executive Committee meeting, also took place at the University of Aveiro Auditorium on Saturday morning. 

The Manisa 2028 Bid Committee was represented by: Hakan Bebek Ministry of Youth and Sports of Türkiye / Head of the Sports Services Department; Zeynep Kaleli, First Counsellor of the Embassy of Türkiye in Lisbon; Mehmet Günay, TUSF President; Koray Erdemir, TUSF Sponsorship and Marketing Committee Chairman; and Asli Ozdendir, TUSF Internal Relations. 

The Bid Committee of Split 2028 Candidate City was represented by: Ivica Puljak, Mayor of the City of Split; Stipe Cogelja, Vice-Prefect of Splitsko Dalmatisnka County; Nikola Koceic Bilan, Vice-Rector of the University of Split; Jelana Matesic, CASF Sports Director; Nikola Vincetic, CASF Secretary General; and Luka Grubor, Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medallist and Vice-President of the Split Academic Sports Association. 

Finally, the Granada 2028 Bid Committee was represented by: Fernando Molinero Revert, General Director of the Spanish Sports Council; María Francisca Carazo Villalonga, Mayor of Granada; Pedro Mercado Pacheco, Rector of the University of Granada; Ana Isabel Agudo Martínez, Councillor of Granada; and Jordi Joan Mercadé Torras, Director of the University of Granada Sports Centre. 

After all the official presentations, the Executive Committee held question and answer sessions with the candidate cities before voting and awarding the European University Sports Association (EUSA) flagship events for 2028 and 2030. 

The award ceremony took place at the end of the FADU Summit, in the presence of the highest local and university authorities, EUSA Executive Committee members, guests and students, including Secretary of State for Sport Pedro Dias, Rector of the University of Aveiro Paulo Jorge Ferreira, and FADU President Ricardo Nora. The EUSA delegation was represented by EUSA President Adam Roczek and EUSA Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik. The ceremony was hosted by TV journalist Ines Goncalves. 

After a short video showing the Candidate Cities in these last days of official presentations, President Roczek took the floor for the official announcements. The first edition of the EUSA European Universities Games to be attributed during the event was that of 2028, which went to the city of Split, Croatia.

EUG2028, the ninth edition of the event, will be the second time it will be held in Croatia after Zagreb-Rijeka 2016. Ivica Puljak, Koceic Bilan and CASF vice-president Toni Gamulin received the award on behalf of their bid committee at the official signing of the award agreements. 

Roczek then announced that the 10th edition, EUG2030, had been awarded to the city of Granada with the event returning to Spain for the first time since Cordoba hosted the inaugural Games in 2012. Carazo Villalonga and Mercado Pacheco signed the official documents on behalf of the Bid Committee at the official signing of the award contracts.

The 2024 EUGs are being held in July in Debrecen-Miskolc, Hungary with Salerno in Italy hosting the 2026 edition of the European Universities Games.
