Brazilian Hugo Calderano and Hina Hayata of Japan have sealed the singles titles in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender event in Muscat.

Calderano ended victorious in the men's tournament after staging a dramatic comeback win against England's Liam Pitchford.

The 6-11, 1-11, 11-8, 11-0, 11-4, 10-12, 11-7 result saw Calderano claim his third WTT Series title of the year.

Pitchford looked formidable in the early stages and appeared to be strolling to glory as he flew into a two-game lead.

However, Calderano found himself 2-0 down on multiple occasions in the Omani capital against the likes of Frenchmen Jules Rolland and Simon Gauzy in the round-of-16 and semi-finals, respectively.

The momentum switched massively in the third game as he went on to win 22 of the next 26 points.

Pitchford then saved match point at 10-9 in game six before winning it and taking the final to a decider.

However, he got off to a poor start going down 7-2 before Calderano pushed on for the title.

In the women's final, Hayata secured her fourth WTT Series singles trophy following a dominant display.

Pan American Games champion Adriana Díaz of Puerto Rico stood in her way but was swept aside in under 30 minutes.

It was one-way traffic from start to finish, despite the two being separated by just one seeding position, as Hayata crushed her opponent 11-7, 11-5, 11-5, 11-6.

Hong Kong duo Ng Wing Lam and Zhu Chengzhu cruised to the women's doubles title in Muscat as they beat Turkey's Sibel Altinkaya and Serbian Andrea Todorovic 11-5, 11-6, 11-4 in the opening match of the finals day.

Germans Patrick Franziska and Dimitrij Ovtcharov also took a straight-games win, this time in the men's doubles final where they beat Anton Kallberg and Kristian Karlsson of Sweden 13-11, 11-4, 11-9.

The mixed doubles gold then went to Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-Ju and Chen Szu-Yu following an 11-7, 16-18, 11-8, 11-3 result against Miwa Harimoto and Sora Matsushima of Japan.
