Paris 2024 quotas for winners is expected to make the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach Volleyball World Championships in Tlaxcala, Mexico, exciting.

The tournament scheduled to run until October 15 will see a total of 48 teams each among men and women battle it out.

The World Championships will also have matches played in Apizaco and Huamantla.

The United States have the biggest contingent in Tlaxcala with seven women's and five men's teams taking part.

Germany and Brazil too have come up with a large team along with Australia, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and hosts Mexico.

All focus will be on Anders Mol and Christian Sørum as the Norwegians hope to defend their titles.

The Olympic champions have familiar foes in Brazilians Vitor Felipe and Renato Lima and Andre Loyola and George Wanderley.

The Vikings took have had a decent season, having won gold in three of the seven Volleyball Word Beach Pro Tour events in 2023.

Swedes David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig and Ondřej Perušič and David Schweiner of the Czech Republic are also tipped to be contenders for the title.

Brazilian pair and defending champions Eduarda Santos Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos are also in good form having won four of the eight Pro Tour events among women.

The duo, ranked number one, will be eyeing a seventh world title for Brazil in Mexico.

Brandie Wilkerson and new partner and 2019 world champion Melissa Humana-Paredes are the favourites to stop the South Americans.

It will not be wise to discount the German pairing of Cinja Tillmann and Svenja Muller, who will look to climb up the ladder having won bronze last year.

Dark horses Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss of the United States, ranked number two, are expected to challenge for the title but Americans will also be keen to see the return of Tokyo 2020 champion Alix Klineman.

The 33-year-old coming back after child birth in June is pairing with Hailey Harward as a wildcard.
