The Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) has held a sports day to celebrate Omani Youth Day, which is held every year on October 26.

Organised in cooperation with the Oman Sports and Activity Society Committee and the General Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth, the event was held in the North Al Batinah Governorate.

It was held in a bid to spread awareness of the importance of practising sport for all ages.

The event included competitions for sports such as 3x3 basketball and wheelchair basketball.

Football, handball, beach volleyball, badminton, skateboarding and taekwondo were also on the schedule.

A fitness programme, a first aid workshop specialising in sports injuries and a blood donation campaign also took place.

This was held at the Sports Complex in Sohar, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah.

Several members of the OOC were present, while prizes and rewards were given to participants.
