Chris_AdcockNovember 3 - Third seeds Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Hendra Adripa Gunawan crashed out of badminton's French Open in the first round after an inspired performance by England's Chris Adcock (pictured) and Andrew Ellis.

The England pair took the match 27-25, 21-19 in Paris to claim a big Super Series scalp.

Leading 16-11 at one point in the opening game at the Coubertin Stadium, Adcock and Ellis let the Indonesians draw level with five points in a row.

The lead then chopped and changed with the England pair saving two game points before winning the opener on their fifth game point.

The second game was just as close with the scores again level at 16-16 before Adcock and Ellis edged into a 20-17 lead and took the contest on their third match point after 43 minutes.

England number one Rajiv Ouseph got his singles campaign off to a solid start with a 21-14, 21-10 win over Kasper Ipsen of Denmark.

Ouseph, the world number 16, will face France's Brice Leverdez or Ireland's Scott Evans in the second round.
