The United States remain on course to defend their men’s World Ultimate and Guts Championships after comfortably overcoming Colombia 15-2 to reach the semi-finals at the UCL Sports Ground in London.

The Americans now face a semi-final encounter with rivals Canada, who narrowly got the better of Germany in a 15-12 success. 

The other last-four tie pits Japan against Australia after they saw off the challenges of Belgium and hosts Great Britain respectively.

Japan triumphed 15-10, while Australia recorded a 15-11 victory.

In the women’s competition, holders Japan advanced to the semi-finals with a 15-6 win over Australia.

Awaiting them in the last four are Colombia, who were 15-12 victors at the expense of Germany.

The US, beaten finalists in 2012, claimed a 15-4 win over Switzerland to set up a clash with Canada, who downed Russia 15-8.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place tomorrow, followed by the finals at London’s Allianz Park on Saturday (June 25).
