Edwards, the 2000 Olympic champion, and Adepitan will work with Lloyds TSB on a range of initiatives over the next four years, promoting its association with the Games, as well as helping to inspire and support employees, customers and the wider community on the journey to London 2012.

Edwards, who is also a member of the London 2012 Board, said: “I am extremely happy to be part of another great British team.

"We all share the same vision, that the 2012 Games can inspire people of all ages and abilities to start getting active now and I am delighted to be playing such a pivotal role in helping to promote this."

Sally Hancock, Lloyds TSB London 2012 partnership director, said: "Jonathan and Ade are both great role models and sporting ambassadors. I am really excited about working with them on a range of initiatives over the next four years that truly support and deliver our vision and objectives for the Games.
