In the men’s event, victory went to Antoine Delpero who scored 16.10 points in the final, in the process winning his third gold medal, and sixth overall World Longboard Championships medal.

Brazilian Carlos Bahia claimed the silver medal with a score of 15.17 in the final, with third place going to the brother of the winner Edouard Delpero with 14.33.

Fourth place in the final, and the copper medal, went to Rogelio Esquieviel Jr of the Philippines with 12.57.

Conditions were ideal for the finals with consistent four to five foot swells providing a challenge for competitors.

In the women’s final, Alice Le Moigne conquered conditions to win her second World Longboard Championship gold medal, with the French surfer scoring 14.46 points to take the title.

Maria Reyes of Peru took the silver medal with 13.60, with Brazil’s Chloe Calmon winning bronze with 11.97, and copper going to Zoe Grospiron of France with 9.50.

In the team competition France claimed gold, with silver going to Brazil, bronze won by Peru and copper going to Philippines.

Reflecting on the Championships, International Surfing Association President Fernando Aguerre said: "It has been an amazing week, featuring some of the best longboard surfing competition in history.

"Now you can go home and tell your friends and family about beautiful El Salvador.

"Thank you President (Nayib) Bukele and (Tourism) Minister (Morena) Valdez for your continued support and wonderful hospitality.

"It has been an incredible week, full of great waves and warm weather.

"This week has proved how many incredibly talented athletes are a part of the international longboard community and how that community is constantly growing and expanding to new parts of the globe.

"I am so excited at the prospect of longboarding being a part of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

"We know that this amazing sport belongs there and we can’t wait to see it happen."
