Double world champion Carlos Yulo has secured four medals from all four of his events in the men's artistic gymnastics at the Cambodia 2023 Southeast Asian Games.

Day two of the sport's schedule saw the Filipino win the parallel bars title with a superb routine that translated to 14.850 points and a gold medal.

He was joined on the podium by Vietnam's Phuong Thanh Dinh and Malaysian Ng Chun Chen with scores of 14.400 and 13.100, respectively.

Yulo did not fare as well in the rings at the Morodok Techo National Stadium as he narrowly missed out on gold by 0.200 to Vietnam's Van Khanh with 14.200.

Yesterday's action saw the 23-year-old take the individual all-round gold for the third consecutive time at the Games.

He then helped the Philippines to second place in the team event, finishing behind Vietnam while Malaysia made up the top three.

Yulo's haul from the Southeast Asian Games now stands at 18 medals, including nine gold.

He has taken part in Philippines 2019 and Vietnam 2021 prior to this year's edition.

"The team competition is really making me hyped and the atmosphere as well – I really loved it," Yulo told Olympics.com before yesterday's group contest.

"At first, especially in rings, I was really nervous.

"My legs are shaking but I managed to do it.

"So I was really happy because this is the starter for me and afterwards, I thought I'm going to be fine, I felt like I could do it.

"I came here prepared and I gave my best shot, so I'm really happy."

Yulo has proved himself to be one of the world's best but is yet to claim an Olympic medal.

He narrowly missed out last time after finishing fourth at Tokyo 2020 but now has his sights set on next year's Games.

"The goal is to get a gold medal in Paris Olympics," Yulo said.

"It would be good in the individual all-around, but it depends; I'm going to do my best in three events as well, especially floor, vault and parallel bars."
