Another Colombian bronze was sealed courtesy of Carlos Muñoz while the US' Alan Vera stood with him in joint-third.

The women's wrestling competitions began on day two, with three of the four winners being World Championships medallists.

Reigning senior, under-23, and under-20 world champion Amit Elor of the US made her debut in the continental event in the under-72kg competition.

She got the better of Colombia's Luisa Mosquera and Katie Mulkay of Canada in the round-robin tournament as they settled for silver and bronze, respectively. 

Another round-robin triumph went to American Mallory Velte in the under-65kg.

It marked the 28-year-old's second Pan-American Championships win as she defeated second and third-placed Paula Montoya of Colombia and Canadian Aleah Nickel.

A third women's gold for the US came courtesy of Xochitl Citalli Mota Pettis in the under-59kg.

Canada's Alexandria Town clinched the silver medal with a win against the weight category's only other competitor, Jessica N Derell of Barbados.

Town's countrywoman Diana Weicker ended the American dominance with gold in the under-55kg.

Alisha Howk of the US took silver ahead of third-placed Argentine Adrianny Castillo.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with the remaining six women's wrestling bouts as well as two freestyle finals.
