Jordan Stolz of the United States added to his junior world title by winning the men's 500 metres gold at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Single Distance Championships in Heerenveen.

After winning the overall junior title, including gold in the 500m in Inzell earlier this year, Stolz became the youngest gold medallist in World Single Distances Championships history as he crossed the line in 34.10sec.

Laurent Dubreuil, who won team sprint gold for Canada yesterday, bagged the silver medal in 34.46 while Japan's Beijing 2022 bronze medallist in the distance Wataru Morishige settled for the same medal at the World Championships.

Morishige crossed the line in 34.48.

For the hosts, Femke Kok and Jutta Leerdam was separated by Austrian Vanessa Herzog in the women's 500m race.

European champion Kok cruised to victory in 37.28 while  2019 world champion Herzog 0.05sec behind for the silver medal.

Beijing 2022 1,000m silver medallist Leerdam completed the last podium spot, crossing the line 37.54.

Canada won the women's team pursuit title thanks to Valérie Maltais, Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidemann, who clocked 2:54.58 for the gold medal.

Japan and USA bagged silver and bronze with timings of 2:57.30 and 3:00.39 respectively.

In the men's team pursuit, Patrick Roest, Beau Snellink and Marcel Bosker won gold in 3:38.26.

Second place went to Canada in 3:38.43 while Norway got bronze in 3:40.93.
