The men's Pool B clash produced a 16-goal thriller which ended in an 8-8 draw and saw the Iranians qualify for the quarter-finals.

The Czechs led 6-3 by the 25^th minute but a last-minute goal completed the dramatic comeback.

The other Pool B battle between South Africa and Argentina ended with the hosts snatching a 5-4 win.

"It was our goal at the start [to make it into the quarterfinals]… it means everything," said South African captain Jethro Eustice.

"It was emotionally and physically demanding, everything that needed to be put in was in there today.

"I think that was probably the turning point in the last minute, that we all looked at each other and said all we need is one chance and one chance we got and we took it.

"It's emotional and exciting at the same time."

Despite the loss, the Argentines still advanced with the table-topping United States, who ended with four wins from five matches.

In the other men’s pool, it was Namibia who booked the final top-four spot despite a 4-4 draw with New Zealand.

They joined Austria, The Netherlands, and Belgium, from their next pool, in advancing to the next round.

Austria finished top of the pool with five wins from as many matches, scoring 27 goals and conceding five.

Austria, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic had already secured their quarter-final places before the final pool matches of the women's tournament, but the other spots were yet to be determined.

South Africa claimed their second victory of the tournament, beating New Zealand 6-3, to qualify for the top eight.

Australia went down 4-2 to Austria in their final pool match, but still progressed thanks to their earlier victories against the United States and New Zealand.

The Netherlands finished top of Pool A with five wins from as many matches, scoring 29 goals and conceding four.

In Pool B, it was Belgium, Ukraine and Canada who joined the already-qualified Czech Republic in the quarter-finals, with the Czech Republic topping the pool with four wins from five matches.

Tomorrow's men's quarter-final clashes are set to see Belgium facing Iran while defending world champions Austria are up against Argentina, the US take on Namibia, and The Netherlands play South Africa.

In the women's tournament, the Czech Republic face Australia, Austria take on Ukraine, Belgium play South Africa and the Netherlands are up against Canada in a bid to reach the semi-finals, scheduled for Saturday (February 11).
