Karker, a Beijing 2022 bronze medallist, fended off close competition to seal a pole position finish as her second run score of 93.50 gave her a slender lead at the top of the women's standings.

She was fully deserving of the qualifying victory, after setting the highest score in both runs with 91.50 awarded for the first attempt.

China's Kexin Zhang followed close behind with a best effort of 92.00 on her final attempt before Britain's Zoe Atkin did the same for 90.25 points.

Atkin did well to recover after a poor first go which amounted to 10.75 points.

The trio were followed by the United States' Hanna Faulhaber, Canadians Amy Fraser and Dillian Glennie, Kim Dae-eun of South Korea, and another American in Svea Irving.

They secured their progression to the next round after taking the top eight places.

Irving snatched the last spot with 76.50 points to push Sabrina Cakmakli out of the qualification zone as the German finished on 74.75.

A first-run masterclass was enough for Wise to take first place in the men's event as he picked up 91.00 points.

Canadian Brendan Mackay's 89.00 points gave him second place while Wise's countryman Aaron Blunck posted a score of 86.75.

New Zealand's Finley Melville Ives, who finished fourth with 86.25 points, was the only non-North American to qualify for the final.

The US trio of Birk Irving, Matthew Labaugh, and Tristan Feinberg were joined by Canada's Dylan Marineau and Andrew Longino in the all important top 10.
