In cross-country skiing, she started off with victory in the women's sitting 10 kilometres, winning in a time of 33min 44.9sec, more than a minute in front of Anja Wicker of Germany and Brazilian Aline Dos Santos.

The 18km individual saw Gretsch lead the same podium, but she would lose out to Dos Santos in the sprint final, with Wicker taking bronze.

In biathlon events, she claimed three titles from three.

With a perfect shooting record, the American led German Andrea Eskau by over six minutes in a time of 43:42.0 in the 12.5km individual sitting, with Canadian Christina Picton taking third.

No targets were missed in the 10km middle race either, with Wicker and Eskau completing the podium.

Once again ensuring no targets would be missed, Gretsch beat Wicker and Eskau to the sprint 7.5km title.

Canadian Mark Arendz claimed three gold medals during the Championships, in men's standing events.

One came in cross-country - with Arendz winning the men's 10km standing race in a time of 24:34.6.

Witold Skupien from Poland and France's Benjamin Daviet completed the podium.

In biathlon, the Canadian defeated Grygorii Vovchynskyi of Ukraine and Daviet in the men's 12.5km individual standing race; and added a third gold in front of Ukrainians Vovchynskyi and Serhii Romaniuk of Ukraine in the 10km middle race.

Only in the sprint would he suffer defeat, with Germany's Marco Maier winning by 2.9 seconds.

Romaniuk was the bronze medallist.
