One of Finland's came in the girls' figure skating, won by Iida Karhunen, who finished top in both the short programme and free skate for a total of 171.79 points.

Anna Pezzetta of Italy claimed the silver medal with a score of 167.96, followed by Polish skater Noelle Streuli on 162.34, far in front of the rest of the field.

Lina Haggstrom gave the Finns a second title in the girls' freeski slopestyle, leading a one-two with compatriot Liina Kuivalainen.

She scored 84.75 to her team-mate's 82.50, with Italian Carolina Maria Vitale Cesa taking bronze with a best of 80.75.

In the boys' freeski slopestyle, Switzerland won one of its gold medals after Fadri Rhyner put together two consistent runs - the best of his being 90.50 points.

Stefan Sorokin of Estonia was second with a score of 85.50, followed by Petr Muller of Czech Republic with 83.50.

Another came in curling, with the mixed team of Felix Luethold, Zoe Schwaller, Jonas Feierabend and Anja von Arx defeating Germany's Lukas Jaeger, Joy Sutor, Leonhard Angrick and Pauline Walther 9-8 in the final.

Latvia's 10-1 thrashing of Sweden gave them the bronze.

Czech Republic won the girls' ice hockey title with a 4-1 victory over neighbours Slovakia; with Finland joining them on the podium after beating Sweden 3-2.

Another Czech gold came in the girls' snowboard slopestyle with Vanessa Volopichova having a best of 91.75 - far in front of Swiss silver medallist Yuna Scheidegger on 83.75 and her compatriot Soha Janett whose best was 80.50.

The boys' title went to Britain's Charlie Lane with a best of 89.00, followed by Italy's Marcello Grassis and Luca Merimee Mantovani of France on 84.75 and 82.75.

Elsewhere in snowboard, France claimed a one-two in the mixed snowboard cross event, with Bulgaria taking the bronze.

Slovenia claimed the mixed team ski jumping title in front of Poland and Germany, while Miha Oserban took an Alpine skiing gold in the boys' giant slalom in a time of 2:40.05.

Rasmus Bakkevig of Norway and Moritz Zudrell from Austria completed the podium.

Sweden topped the podium in the mixed relay 4x5-kilometres cross-country skiing final in a time of 51:45, finishing 3.5sec and 18.8 in front of Finland and Czech Republic.

Finally, Ski mountaineering wins went to Spain and the hosts Italy.

Laia Sanchez Selles was first in the girls' individual with a time of 59:43.7 - with Norwegian Malin Indergaard taking silver, 48.8 behind the winner and Italian Melissa Bertolina winning bronze, just over a minute behind.

Erik Canovi and Marcello Scarinzi completed a home one-two in the boys' individual, with Canovi finishing in 52:44.9, more than two minutes in front of his compatriot and Silvano Wolf of Austria.
