Competition started with the ski jumping element on the men’s individual Gundersen long hill with victory going to Franz-Josef Rehrl, after the Austrian jumped 143.5 metres, earning 144.4 points.

In second place following the ski jumping was Jarl Magnus Riiber, with the Norwegian earning 143.4 points, after jumping the furthest distance of the day with 144 metres.   

Fellow Austrian Lamparter was third in the ski jumping with 138.4 points, after managing a jump of 140 metres.

Competition then concluded with a 10-kilometre cross-country race, with Rehrl, Riiber and Lamparter coming together after three kilometres.

The trio stayed together for most of the race, with three Germans Julian Schmid, Vinzenz Geiger and Manuel Faisst attempting to close the gap to the leaders but unable to do so.

Rehrl became detached on the final uphill section, leaving Riiber and Lamparter together as they entered the finishing area in the Vogtland Arena.

Overall World Cup leader Riiber stumbled on the final corner, with his fall allowing Lamparter to cross the line in 27min 54.9sec.

Riiber recovered to finish second, seven seconds adrift, with the podium completed by Rehrl, who was 22.9 seconds behind.

Lamparter claimed overall Nordic combined victory at the World Cup meaning he currently leads the German Trophy.
