Egypt is preparing to host three international taekwondo championships in February, in what is reported to be a first for the continent.

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation headed by Chancellor Mohamed Mustafa has attracted three competitions in the space of one week next month.

These come after Egypt experienced a four-year hiatus in hosting and organising international taekwondo events.

The first event is the G1 classified Egypt International Championship, due to be held from February 11 to 15.

The second is the G1 classified Egypt International Para Taekwondo Championship, due to be held on February 16.

Finally, the G2 classified International Taekwondo Federation President’s Cup is scheduled on February 17 and 18.

All three events are scheduled to take place in Cairo, with the Egypt International Championship and President’s Cup both due to be held at Sports City Hall and the Para Taekwondo Championship set to take place at The Club and New Administrative Capital Branch.

Winners in the Egypt International Championship and President’s Cup will both receive 30 points, which helps improve their international and Olympic classifications.

Meanwhile the Para Taekwondo Championship is set to be preceded by a committee for the classification of players for the first time.
