A colourful flag exchange event between Milan Cortina 2026 and Paris 2024 took place at the Palazzo Reale in Milan.

The Organising Committees of the next Summer and Winter editions of the Olympic and Paralympic Games held the event as the Games return to Europe.

Over 100 young actors and dancers took part in the festivities, wearing sports apparels.

"This is what happens when Italian hospitality meets the passion of the French," a statement from Milan Cortina 2026 read.

"The set of two worlds that create a unique atmosphere of brotherhood and sharing, in line with the values that the Five Circles and Agitos promote in the world.

"A moment of aggregation designed to give a small anticipation of the atmosphere that will be breathed during the Games, a great party to which we are all invited."
