Nigeria has talents that can compete in teqball on the international stage, according to the secretary general of Teqball Nigeria.

Ndudi Edede was speaking after the sport debuted at a national sporting festival entitled Delta 2022, held in Asaba.

Edede acknowledged there was work to be done to overcome challenges facing teqball, including funding and human capacity.

"We are taking our time to sharpen the man power or human capacity to improve how we shall be organising teqball in Nigeria," said Edede, as reported by Sports247.

"Now is the time to meet up international standard".

Teqball players from six states - Team Delta, Imo, Kwara, Edo, Ogun and Kogi State participated in singles and doubles demonstration events during the festival.

Delta State’s teqball chairman Marvel Dick added that the demonstration game "came at the right time" for teqball as the sport bids to feature at future national sporting festivals in Nigeria, potentially as a medal event.

The Nigeria Teqball Federation already has full recognition from the country's National Olympic Committee.
