Aleksander Aamodt Kilde of Norway has added the super-G title to his downhill at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup in Beaver Creek.

Olympic medallist Kilde crossed the line in 1min 10.73sec to take gold.

Marco Odermatt of Switzerland bagged silver 0.20sec later while bronze medal went to Alexis Pinturault of France in 1:11.03.

"It was a long day yesterday, I had to fight to be top of the podium," said Kilde.

"It was tough but it was doable.

"It was tricky, quite dark, and there were lots of places where you could do mistakes.

"I just tried to keep it going, be smart and also charge down the pitch.

"I tried to go clean."

Kilde and Odermatt made no mistake on a steep, tight and technical course.

But the Norwegian was slightly more aggressive as he claimed gold.

Another Swiss athlete in Gino Caviezel finished fourth, clocking 1:11.28.

Kilde’s compatriot Atle Lie McGrath skied into fifth with a timing of 1:11.30.

Kilde and Odermatt will be hoping for more of the same results as they head to Val Gardena for the next event scheduled for December 16.
