The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has held its first-ever Virtual Cup South Korea's capital, Seoul, which was won by the home nation.

Kim Chung-yong was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament and received a special edition baseball glove belonging to Oh Ji-hwan, the shortstop of the South Korean team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

A total of 8,146 entries were submitted for the opening round.

The losing semi-finalists were Bash Brothers from the United States and 웰카지님의 팀 from South Korea.

"We did our best for every single game, which led us to the great final result," said Kim Hwan-hee and Kim Chung-yong after their win.

"We feel great.

"We split it first, and buy some baseball equipment that we need.

"We would like to give some to parents and also, travel together."

Among those in attendance was Kim Chung-yong's sister Kim So-won, who participated in the first WBSC Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico City a few weeks ago.
