Teqball was showcased on the multi-sport event stage when it featured as a demonstration sport at the Asunción 2022 South American Games.

International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) chairman Viktor Huszar was in the Paraguayan capital where the new Pan American Teqball Confederation was also established to mark another step in the sport’s global growth.

Alongside the South American Games, which featured 34 sports, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee held a fan festival where teqball was played.

Colombians Laura Catalina and Nilson Castañeda and Brazilians Gabrielle Pereira and Luan Sidney represented FITEQ at the fan festival and the Paraguayan National Ministry of Sports.

The FITEQ ambassadors introduced teqball to thousands of spectators through hosting the competitions and providing winners with merchandise during the 10-day competition.

Paraguayan Beach Football Federation President Robert Harrison also tested his skills at the site alongside Huszar.

South America is considered as one of the fastest-growing regions for teqball, highlighted by the success of Brazil at last year’s World Championships where they captured gold and silver medals.

Teqball is set to feature on the sports programme at the Sanya 2023 Asian Beach Games and Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games.
