Judoka are set to compete for world titles across blind and partially sighted categories for men and women, with Paris 2024 Paralympics world ranking points on offer during the event.

Competition is due to be held at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex, starting tomorrow, and running until Thursday (November 10).     

Preliminaries and repechages are due to take place from 10am local time each day, with a finals block following later on each day.

Welcoming participants, vice-president of the IBSA and President of the Azerbaijan National Paralympic Committee Ilgar Rahimov said: "Baku, Azerbaijan is well-known in the IBSA judo family for hosting major events in 2019 and 2021.

"The 2022 IBSA Judo World Championships will be one of the biggest Paralympic sports competition of the year and will provide world ranking points for Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.

"We are looking forward to welcoming you again to Azerbaijan."
