A moment of decisiveness and quick feet from Rana Al-Khateeb earned Al-Hilal the women's futsal title at the Saudi Games in Riyadh.

Al-Hilal and Al-Yamamah entered the contest having won all of their games so far, so picking a winner to be wearing gold at the King Saud University Arena was never going to be easy.

In the first half, Al-Hilal showed they were up to the task by establishing a 2-1 lead to take into the break thanks to efforts from Mariam Bnkeran and Abeer Al-Shamri.

However, Al-Yamamah replied in the second half and sought to gather some momentum now that Al-Bandari Mobarak and Saba Tawfiq found their goalscoring form.

But, neither side could find a third for the remainder of regulation time and the match went to overtime.

Al-Khateeb stole the show by pouncing on a defender's bad touch, tiptoed along the by-line and poked home the game winner.

In the bronze medal tie, Al-Shabab performed a stunning comeback to secure their spot on the podium.

Meanwhile, the men's futsal competition saw Al-Eitifaq overwhelm Al-Nassr across both halves to claim the gold medal.

Meshary Al-Obeid initially put the eventual winners in front but they were pegged back almost immediately through Abdullah Al-Mughrabi.

Wesley de Souza restored Al-Eitifaq's lead in the second half before Osama Baabdullah tapped home the crucial third goal.

Al-Nassr were unable to respond as Al-Eitifaq continued to pile on the pressure, consequently preventing them from getting a foothold in the match.
