Kawamoto finished in 3:43.251 with Ryan Taylor of Britain claiming third having concluded the race in 3:37.432.

Spain's Ricardo Ten Argiles picked up the men's C1 individual pursuit gold medal after clocking at 3:47.625.

United States' Keith Aaron claimed silver having notched 3:47.885 while German Pierre Senska took bronze.

There was treble delight for Britain in the men's one kilometre time trial finals, with Blaine Hunt securing the first title.

He timed at 1:04.292 in the C5 class to beat the US' Christopher Murphy and France's Dorlan Foulon.

Murphy's race time was 1:04.579 with Foulon crossing the line in 1:05.307.

Jody Cundy achieved the C4 gold medal after making his way to the finish in 1:04.493, as Devon Briggs of New Zealand and Jozef Metelka of Slovakia followed in 1:07.116 and 1:07.123 respectively.

Britain recorded a one-two in the C3 category thanks to Jaco Van Gass and double Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Finlay Graham registering a time of 1:06.122 and 1:07.460 respectively.

Dutchman Stijn Boersma notched a time of 1:08.848 to take bronze.

Britain picked up another gold, this time in the women's C3 individual pursuit thanks to the efforts of Daphne Schrager.

The rider crossed the finish line in 3:58.963 as closest challengers Keiko Sugiura of Japan and Clara Brown of the US registered 4:00.661 and 4:03.362.

Switzerland's Flurina Rigling triumphed in the women's C2 individual pursuit in dominant fashion.

Rigling finished eight seconds in front of Australia's Amanda Reid and more than 16 seconds quicker than Colombia's Carolina Munevar.

Belgium's Griet Hoet and Anneleen Monsieur were victorious in the women's tandem one kilometre time trial final, but only by the smallest of margins.

The pair recorded a time of 1:07.410, which was only barely faster than Australia's Jessica Gallagher and Caitlin Ward and Britain's Sophie Unwin and Jenny Holl who notched 1:07.903 and 1:07.991 respectively.

Meanwhile, two women's scratch races were staged with Emily Petricola of Australia and Nicole Murray of New Zealand taking gold.

Petricola fended off American Samantha Bosco and compatriot Meg Lemon while Murray beat Britain's Crystal Lane-Wright and France's Marie Patouillet.

Stephen Bate and Christopher Latham wrapped things up for Britain with a gold medal in the men's tandem individual pursuit as The Netherlands won silver and bronze.

Tristan Bangma and Patrick Bos came second and Vincent Ter Schure and Timo Fransen paired for third.
