Dubai earned the right to host the next Conference ahead of two other candidates - Croatia and Chile.

H.E. Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, added: "Dubai’s win to host the International Conference on Sports Medicine in 2024 is the result of constructive co-operation with our partners in the public and private sectors, especially with the Sports Medicine Committee of the National Olympic Committee.

"An integrated and attractive hosting offer has won this international conference, based on Dubai's huge potential, advanced infrastructure and organisational capacity, in addition to its track record of hosting major international events."

Dr Hashel Al Tunaiji, head of the Sports Medicine Committee, said that his organisation had worked hard to secure an event that aims to promote the study and development of sports medicine around the world.
