The line-ups for this year's Pan Continental Curling Championships have been amended after an error was identified in the replacement system.

Australia's men and the New Zealand women are the beneficiaries and have been added to the respective A-Divisions.

They replace Kazakhstan's men and the Chinese Taipei women's team, who will instead compete in B-Division competition.

Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei had initially been called up last week to replace China, following the country's withdrawal from the Pan Continental Curling Championships.

As this will be the first edition of the Pan Continental Curling Championships, it was determined there had been no "previously completed edition of a qualifying championship or lower division", so the world rankings should have been used to replace China instead of past results.

This has now happened, with Australia's men and the New Zealand women added to the top tier.

The Pan Continental Curling Championships is the result of the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships and Americas Challenge being combined.

Calgary Olympic Park is the venue for the inaugural edition, due to start on October 31.

The host nation, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei, Brazil and the United States join Australia in the top men's division.

The US, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Japan complete the women's A-Division field alongside New Zealand.

Qualification to the full World Championships is on offer in Calgary.
