Sweden beat the Czech Republic in a penalty shootout to win the Under-19 Women's World Floorball Championship.

The final in Katowice in Poland went down to the wire, finishing 4-4 after regulation time following a Czech fightback.

Sweden had led 3-0 and then 4-1, but an Anna Bruchackova hat-trick brought the Czechs level.

Extra time produced no further goals so a shootout was required.

Maja Lindsjo was the hero in the Swedish goal, saving the decisive penalty from Bruchackova in sudden death.

Sweden scored two of seven penalties - through Emma Heander and Cajsa Alm - versus the Czech Republic's one.

Finland beat Switzerland 8-3 to claim the bronze medal, with Miisa Turunen scoring a hat-trick.

This is Sweden's record seventh Under-19 Women's World Floorball Championship title.

Finland, who were the defending champions, and Switzerland are the only other nations to have won the event.

Second place represents the Czech Republic's best-ever finish.

This tournament had been initially scheduled to be played in New Zealand, but because of COVID-19 complications it was moved to Poland.
