The Netherlands beat Finland 11-3 to qualify for the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) Powerchair Hockey World Championship in Nottwil.

Finland who, who beat Australia 32-0 to book a semi-finals spot yesterday were not able to replicate the same form at the Stadthalle Sursee.

However, they are still in contention for a third-place finish.

In the other semi-final of the day, hosts Switzerland went down to Denmark 1-3.

Switzerland will now face Finland in the third-place match.

Defending champions Italy’s quest to be ranked between fifth and eighth started with a 12-2 win over Spain.

Meanwhile, Germany beat Belgium 13-3 in their medal match before Canada defeated Australia 13-3 to finish in ninth place.

The tournament is set to conclude tomorrow.
