Snowshoe in West Virginia is hosting the latest leg of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Mountain Bike World Cup and one of the last top-level events before this year's World Championships.

Downhill, cross-country and short track races are all on the agenda, with an impressive field registered to compete.

That includes men's cross-country world champion Nino Schurter from Switzerland and the Italian Luca Braidot, who won the last cross-country race on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup circuit in Andorra, plus Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist David Valero.

Short track world champion Christopher Blevins from the United States, the host nation, and downhill world champion Greg Minaar of South Africa are also due to compete as they prepare to defend their world titles in French resort Les Gets next month.

Olympic champion Jolanda Neff and bronze medallist Linda Indergand headline the women's field.

French rider Myriam Nicole, the reigning downhill world champion, is also on the start list.

Elite short track finals are due to take place tomorrow, along with downhill qualifying.

Downhill winners should be crowned on Saturday (July 30) and racing in the Olympic cross-country discipline is due to take place on Sunday (July 31).
