Australia's Fox, who is a former K1 world champion and three-time Olympic medallist in the discipline, overcame illness and a two-second penalty to win the women's final in the Tacen suburb of Slovenia's capital.

Fox touched the first gate, but finished with a winning time of 1min 34.24sec. 

The 28-year-old, who is the reigning Olympic C1 champion, has now won all three women's K1 events this World Cup season.

Mallory Franklin from Britain was second in 1:37.02 and Ukraine's Viktoriia Us completed the top three in 1:37.58.

Reigning Olympic champion Prskavec won the men's K1 race in 1:19.79.

Whereas nobody went error-free in the women's final, the Czech Republic's Prskavec led a men's podium complete with athletes who picked up no time penalties.

Home paddler Martin Srabotnik was second, 1.37sec off the pace, and Jakub Grigar of Slovakia an additional 3.45 behind in third place.

C1 finals and the climax of the extreme canoe competition are scheduled tomorrow.

After the World Cup in Ljubljana, the next major slalom event on the International Canoe Federation calendar is the Canoe Slalom World Championships, due to take place in Augsburg in Germany from July 26 to 31.
