Under the plans, the Games are set to conclude two days prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The sports programme for the Games was also discussed during the meeting, and updates provided on organisational progress, the structure of the Organising Committee and promotional plans.

EUSA first vice-president Haris Pavletić and secretary general Matjaž Pečovnik travelled to Budapest for the meeting.

The Organising Committee delegation included Hungarian University Sport Federation (MEFS) secretary general Péter Juhász, deputy secretary general György Kovács and director of international relations Ágnes Ančić-Valkai.

University of Debrecen physical education coordinator Katalin Varga and head of sports office Tibor Pöszmet attended, and Miskolc's representatives were MEFS International Committee President and Board member Zoltán Rakaczki, and sport organiser at the University Sports Club of Miskolc Éva Antal.

Debrecen-Miskolc 2024 has taken part in the observer programme for this year's European University Games in Łódź.

It is also due to feature at the EUSA Convention and the EUSA's seminar with the International University Sports Federation in September.

As part of the plans for Debrecen-Miskolc 2024, the EUSA Supervisor Commission is due to visit the Hungarian cities in November of this year.

This year's European University Games are scheduled for July 17 to 30, with more than 4,500 athletes expected to compete in 20 sports.

The Games were last held in Coimbra in Portugal in 2018, with the scheduled fifth edition in Belgrade unable to take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
