The Boccia International Sport Federation (BISFed) is looking to appoint a chief executive and has begun the recruitment process for what is a new position within the organisation.

The successful candidate will report to the President, David Hadfield, and will be responsible for a business support officer, operations consultant and technical/competitions consultant.

"We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and proven senior leader to the position of chief executive officer of World Boccia (Boccia International Sports Federation - BISFed)," read a BISFed statement.

"This will be BISFed's first senior appointment of its type and as such the post will have a high profile, leading an International Sports Federation and member of the International Paralympic Committee.

"The successful candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for delivering a global strategy for a sport at the vanguard of international Paralympic sport."

BISFed claim that the role is flexible with working from home and international travel opportunities available, and may not need to be full time.

The salary is said to be negotiable up to £50,000 ($61,000/€58,000).

"This is an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to lead the next stage of boccia’s growth and development," a BISFed release stated.

"The successful candidate will have, among other attributes, experience of growing a small business or division, excellent networking, interpersonal and social skills, an eye for detail, good financial and commercial expertise and an understanding of UK corporate governance requirements."

The closing date for applications has been set for July 15 this year.
