The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) has received food donations from a local oil and gas company, prior to their involvement at the Pacific Mini Games and Commonwealth Games.

The respective Chefs de Mission for Papua New Guinea at each competition were gifted boxes of supplies at the depot of Oilmin Field Services in the country's capital, Port Moresby.

They were joined by a selection of athletes from Papua New Guinea who will be competing at the respective Games.

The PNGOC was founded in 1973 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) the following year.

It first participated at the Olympic Games in Montreal 1976, but is yet to win a medal.

The 2022 Pacific Mini Games is scheduled to be held in the Northern Mariana Islands from June 17-25, with nine events being contested.

This year's Commonwealth Games is due to be held from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham.
