Imre Papp has been re-elected as President of the Hungarian Sambo Federation for a third term following the organisation's Annual General Meeting.

Papp co-founded the national governing body in 2009 and has served as President since, with his latest stint set to last for five years.

He will be joined in leading the Hungarian Sambo Federation by Ferenc Sirankó, who has been named as vice-president once more, while Márta Oroslya-Papp retains the position of secretary general.

Krisztián Krisán was also elected as a member of the Executive Committee.

"The General Assembly found that the pandemic had caused damage to its membership and held an 'idea exchange' on several points for development," read a statement from the European Sambo Federation.

"In order to prepare Hungarian judges, coaches and competitors, the member organisations have defined professional cohesion [meetings] every one to one and a half months, which aim to ensure the technical training of Hungarian judges and coaches and the central preparation of competitors preparing for international competitions."

The Annual General Meeting also approved the simplified financial statements for 2021, adopted the 2021 professional report, adopted a professional development plan for 2022 and updated the body's membership fee.

Papp established the Hungarian body alongside Oroslya-Papp and Zoltan Barta, a European Masters Judo Championships medallist.
