Hosts Colombia continued their domination of the World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) Grand Prix in Nilo, with Maria Teresa Restrepo winning her third gold medal of the competition.

The Lima 2019 Parapan American Games bronze medallist triumphed in the mixed 10 metres air rifle SH1 competition, with compatriot Wilmar Pulgarín claiming silver and Gabriel Cardona rounding off an all-Colombian podium at the Nilo Shooting and Hunting Range.

Restrepo was delighted with her victory.

"What can I tell you, after all this process, being able to return to competition after the pandemic makes me very happy," she said.

"I made a mark in two of my tests and surely there are many projects to come, I have many expectations, I am speechless."

In the mixed 25m pistol SH1, Deiber Arredondo of Colombia came out on top, with Edwin Mora claiming silver.

The international delegate of the National Para Shooting Sport Open Joel Biondo praised the organisation for hosting the third WSPS Grand Prix of the season after the penultimate day of competition.

"Although it is a national event, we had a lot of international participation," Biondo claimed.

"Everything has gone very well, the people of Colombia have dominated the competition, Antioquia has stood out with very good competitors and the event is fulfilling its objective."

The Grand Prix is set to conclude tomorrow with the men's 10m standing air rifle and 50m prone rifle, mixed pistol and men's 10m foot air rifle competitions.
