Harmanpreet Singh scored a double to help India towards another win in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Pro League, defeating Germany 3-0 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

All three goals came from penalty corners, with Harmanpreet benefiting from the set piece twice in the 17th and 26th minute.

His double took his season tally to 16 goals.

Abhishek got the third goal, getting a deflection on another penalty corner attempt, in the 44th minute.

"It's great to get chances for India, with a long tournament allowing squad rotations," said player of the match Abhishek.

"My aim is to always make the best use of any chance that I get to play for India, and happy to have won player of the match and gotten a goal today."

Having played 11 of their 16 matches, India has 24 points, sitting top of the table.

Germany are in second after nine matches on 17 points, but could be caught by the likes of The Netherlands, Argentina and Belgium, who are close behind and have three games in hand.

A rematch between India and Germany is scheduled for tomorrow.
