The International University Sports Federation (FISU) is seeking more volunteers to aid their efforts in staging its upcoming events, such as the FISU World University Championships and University World Cups.

Students from across the world can apply to the organisation’s volunteer programme where they can acquire experience and develop organisational skills.

The volunteers would be working directly with the Organising Committees of the competitions.

FISU has set two separate deadlines to accommodate the variety of events on its calendar, with the first being April 30 and the second being July 30.

Those who apply for the first set of registration will be involved in events between June and August while the second batch will take part in the competitions from September to November.

FISU is scheduled to hold ten more World University Championships with sport climbing next on the calendar.

This is due to take place between June 14 and 17 in Innsbruck in Austria.

Five more World Cup events are planned, including the floorball edition from June 20 to 24 in Liberec in Czech Republic.

"Sport and education have been at the forefront of FISU’s main mission since its founding," Eric Saintrond, the chief executive and secretary general of FISU, said.

"Volunteering opportunities like this provide students with practical experience behind the scenes with event organisers, adding to their skillset, enhancing an existing skill or even inspiring them to take on a new career path in the field of sport and education."
