There were six different winners across six team categories on a bumper day of action at the European Indoor Archery Championships in Laško in Slovenia.

Russia's Viktoria Balzhanova, Elizaveta Knyazeva and Alexandra Savenkova began the day with a nail-biting 231-230 victory over Estonia in the women's compound final.

The Netherlands eventually ended the men's compound tournament victorious.

Sil Pater, Mike Schloesser and Max Verwoerdt led the country through three agonising and close matches to take gold.

The trio defeated Italy 30-29 in a shootout after drawing 234-234 in the main stage.

They then snuck past France 234-233 before getting the better of Turkey 236-235 in the final.

France went one better in the men's recurve competition, with a merciless 6-0 win against Belarus in the gold-medal match.

They had beaten hosts Slovenia and Ukraine, 6-2 and 5-3, en route to the final.

It was then Ukraine's time to shine.

Veronika Marchenko, Anastasia Pavlova and Polina Rodionova blitzed Turkey 6-0 in the women's recurve final.

Prior to reaching the title decider, they had breezed past Moldova 6-0 and dispatched Russia 5-1.

Sweden were the dominant force in the men's barebow as they picked up gold following a 6-2 final victory against Italy.

They faced a tough battle against Slovenia in the semi-finals after the hosts demolished Poland 6-0, but nevertheless prevailed 5-3.

Italy's barebow women's team were awarded direct passage into the final as the tournament only featured three nations.

Russia beat Poland 5-4 thanks to a 19-18 tiebreak wi,n but faltered in the gold-medal match, going down 6-2.

Individual titles for the recurve, compound and barebow men's and women's brackets are set to take place on the final day of the event tomorrow.
