Yesterday's victory on home ice was an eighth from nine World Cups this season for Sweden's Näslund, and she came out on top again in today's big final.

Her compatriot Alexandra Edebo and Austria’s Katrin Ofner both had their hopes hampered by a crash, which left the door open for France’s Jade Grillet-Aubert to take second place.

Grillet-Aubert finished third yesterday, and was 2.25 seconds behind Näslund in the second World Cup in Idre Fjäll.

Ofner was able to get back to her feet and cross the finish line in third place.

Näslund extended her overall lead with her latest triumph, moving on to 950 points with Switzerland's Fanny Smith on 586 in second.

Smith did not compete in Sweden as she is recovering from a knee injury, while third place is occupied by Canada's Marielle Thompson on 389.

On the men's side, Swiss skier Regez moved joint top of the overall Ski Cross World Cup standings as he won for the second consecutive day in Idre Fjäll.

This came courtesy of an extremely tight photo finish, which showed he had pipped home favourite David Mobärg of Sweden to victory.

François Place of France came through in third, with Tristan Takats of Austria the other competitor in the big final.

Regez is now level with Frenchman Terence Tchiknavorian on 477 points after he was eliminated in the quarter-final, while third place is held by another French athlete in Bastien Midol, who moved on to 441 points after placing 12^th.

This was the last stop on the Ski Cross World Cup circuit before the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, with Sunny Valley in Russia set to host the next stop from February 25 to 27.
