Bankes topped qualifying yesterday, and the world champion clinched a second victory from four events this season, beating second-placed Chloé Trespeuch of France, American Lindsey Jacobellis in third and Australia's Belle Brockhoff in fourth in the big final.

The Briton now has 309 points for the season, with Michela Moioli of Italy losing ground on 231 points after winning the small final.

Brockhoff and Trespeuch are both on 230.

"I am really happy," Bankes said.

"It wasn’t my best start, but I knew I had to stay in the right line and then just go on and have fun in the bank turns and have a good race.

"It was a tight race, so it was fun riding.

"As we have another race tomorrow, my plan is now to recover and then get back to it tomorrow and hopefully I will have another good day.

"I mean, that’s the goal for sure."

In the men's competition, Nörl secured a second career World Cup victory as he triumphed over France's Merlin Surget in second and third-placed Julian Lueftner of Austria.

Nörl's compatriot Paul Berg did not finish after slipping and crashing at the last bank turn before the final jump.

Austrian World Cup leader Alessandro Hämmerle failed to reach the quarter-finals, but still leads the way on 257 points for the season, while his compatriot Jakob Dusek, who was eliminated in the quarter-finals, remains second on 190.

Nörl occupies the final podium position with 186 points, 32 clear of Canada's Éliot Grondin, who won the small final in Krasnoyarsk.

"It feels amazing," the Krasnoyarsk winner said.

"Last time I was on the podium about three years ago and now again - just amazing.

"For sure, tomorrow is another day, but I think with my performance today, I should be qualified for the Olympics now."

A second men's and women's Snowboard Cross World Cup is scheduled to be held in the Russian resort tomorrow, which is set to be the circuit's final qualifying event for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
