Overall women's Snowboard Cross World Cup leader Charlotte Bankes was the top performer in qualifying as the Russian resort of Krasnoyarsk made its debut on the circuit.

Bankes eased through to tomorrow's World Cup after clocking 1min 6.55sec on her first run, with France's Chloé Trespeuch second with 1:07.96.

Australia's Belle Brockhoff placed third with a 1:08.00 run.

Canada's Audrey McManiman was fourth quickest with 1:08.26, while Michela Moioli of Italy finished fifth with 1:08.70.

Bankes leads the season's standings with 209 points, with Moioli second on 186 and Brockhoff third with 180.

Canadian Éliot Grondin led the way in men's qualifying with a first run of 1:02.17, with Germany's Paul Berg and Australia's Adam Lambert completing the top three in 1:02.64 and 1:02.72 respectively.

Alessandro Hämmerle of Austria holds an overall lead of 79 points with his total of 245, and he was the sixth best qualifier in Krasnoyarsk with a time of 1:03.06.

His compatriot Jakob Dusek is second for the season on 166, and won the last Snowboard Cross World Cup in Cervinia.

Dusek required a second run to qualify for the World Cup, missing the cut with his time of 1:03.80 in the first before notching a 1:03.34 to progress.

Back-to-back World Cups are set to be held in Krasnoyarsk tomorrow and on Sunday (January 9).
