The United States' Elana Meyers Taylor will aim to retain her overall lead as the Women’s Monobob World Series resumes in Winterberg tomorrow.

Meyers Taylor, who holds a 15-point lead in the season standings, is scheduled to compete at the event in Germany.

Compatriot Kaillie Humphries, who won her first World Cup race since becoming a full American citizen, is second in the season standings.

Humphries' victory in the last round in Altenberg saw her move to second in the overall standings, a point clear of Germany’s Laura Nolte.

Humphries and Nolte also feature on the 21-strong start list for the competition in Winterberg, with the race acting as useful preparation for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, where women’s monobob is set to make its debut.

A second Women's Monobob World Series event is also scheduled to take place tomorrow in Sigulda, Latvia, with eight competitors on the start list.

Women’s monobob competition at Beijing 2022 is scheduled to take place on February 13 and 14 at the Yanqing Sliding Centre.
