Germany’s Francesco Friedrich made it three wins from three on this season's International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup circuit as he secured victory with Alexander Schüller at a home two-man bobsleigh event in Altenberg.

The pair clocked 55.06sec in the first run and 54.90 in the second as they secured a combined time of 1min 49.96sec.

This was Friedrich's 40th career two-man bobsleigh two-man bobsleigh World Cup triumph and kept him top of this season's overall standings.

His compatriot, Johannes Lochner, remains second after a third consecutive silver medal at this season's World Cup.

Lochner and Christopher Weber recorded the quickest first run with 54.90, but a 55.30 on their second was only the fifth fastest as they finished with a total of 1:50.20 - 0.24sec behind the winners.
