Francesco Friedrich continued his men’s four-man bobsleigh dominance as he led his German team to victory at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Cup in Innsbruck.

The two-time world champion in the discipline has been unbeaten for almost two years and has made a superb start to this season by winning the opening two legs in the Austrian city.

Teaming up with Thorsten Margis, Martin Grothkopp and Alexander Schueller, Friedrich claimed an impressive victory.

The German team finished with a time of 1min 41.82secs - 0.28 ahead of the Latvian quartet of Oskars Kibermanis, Davis Springis, Matiss Miknis and Intars Dambis.

Kibermanis steered Latvia from sixth to the podium with the second-best time in the second run.

The Canadians tied with the Latvian team after the first run before clawing their way back for bronze.

Justin Kripps, Ryan Sommer, Cameron Stones and Benjamin Coakwell were 0.33 behind the leaders in third.

Russia’s Rostislav Gaitiukevich, the 2020 junior world champion, finished fourth ahead of the tied teams of Hunter Church of the United States and home favourite Benjamin Maier.

Laura Nolte claimed back-to-back victories in the two-woman bobsleigh competition in Innsbruck.

After winning with Leonie Fiebig last week, Nolte teamed up with Deborah Levi to secure more success on the Olympic track.

Nolte and Levi finished in 1:46.71 as compatriots Kim Kalicki and Fiebig came second in 1:46.77 and Canadians Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski bagged bronze in 1:46.86.

The Bobsleigh World Cup is now set to head to Germany for three legs in December.

Altenberg is scheduled to stage the first of those from December 4 to 5.
